Our May Steam and Diesel Gala will be taking place on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May 2024.

For this event, all available RH&DR steam locomotives will be in service plus diesel’s J B Snell and Shelagh of Eskdale - which is on long-term loan from the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.

Celebrating its 30th birthday, “Spitfire”, will be joining us from The Bure Valley Railway for this year’s gala celebrations.

Highlights include:

• 9 & 10 Finally reunited. Join Winston Churchill and Dr Syn first thing Saturday morning on a top and tail run to Romney Sands. Followed by a non - stop run through New Romney.
• A late afternoon/evening 28 miler being hauled by a single Romney loco on Saturday.
• Tender first non stop from Romney Sands - Hythe on Sunday.

Stay and Play - Weekend tickets are available online. Our weekend tickets are not available to purchase from our stations.

Keep an eye out on our website nearer the Gala for our ‘Public’ timetable. A ‘Enthusiasts’ timetable will be released online a few days before the gala and provides detailed locomotives and coach set workings.
