After our daily running service on the 16th July to celebrate our 95th Anniversary we’ll be ‘riding the rails’ in a different form.
For the last 95 years, RH&DR has been transporting passengers between Hythe and Dungeness. As an organisation RH&DR, its staff and volunteers, are very conscious of their responsibility to protect the environment, respond to changes in passengers expectations, whilst retaining the magic of traveling behind one of our world famous fleet of Locomotives.
To help raise funds towards our new and exciting environmental projects, a group of eight staff and volunteers from the railway have set themselves the challenge of taking it in turns to ‘ride the rails’, peddling a rail bike between Hythe and New Romney.
Whist steam remains central to RH&DR, everyone involved in this bike ride recognises the need to embrace new technology and by doing so reduce the railways environmental impact. So please help to ensure that RH&DR are transporting passengers of all ages, for the next 95 years, by supporting our Sponsored Bike Ride and help secure RH&DR’s future.
You can sponsor our volunteers as they fundraise for our Community Benefit Society
