Eating and Drinking at Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway



The Hythe Coffee Shop is open daily. Hythe Coffee Shop is open for hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, snacks, sweets and cakes when train services are operating. There are indoor and outdoor tables available. Dogs are welcome in Hythe Shop and Hythe Coffee Shop.

Hythe’s Vintage ‘Tea Room’ serves both cream teas and afternoon teas alongside a selection of sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes. The Tea Room open at weekends from Saturday 2nd July from 10:00-16:00.


The ‘Heywood Buffet’ at New Romney Station is open every day from Saturday 26th March serving a range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, sausage and bacon baguettes, cakes, snacks, confectionery and hot or cold beverages Dogs are welcome in the Conservatory (Heywood Buffet side)

The ‘End of the Line Restaurant’ at Dungeness Station is open every day from 9.30 to 16.15. Serving a variety of hot meals including its famous fish and chips, as well as full English Breakfasts served all day, sandwiches, snacks, cakes and hot or cold beverages. Dogs are welcome in the barriered bistro area (5 tables) and garden.

The Bar Car ‘Gladys’, is our most popular Heritage Coach; perfect for a small group of family or friends to travel together and enjoy a drink or two along the way. A selection of alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, hot drinks and snacks are available to purchase on-board. The Bar Car is currently running without an attendant We also provide a Drinks Package service. Gladys seats 14 and is available for private hire



Join Romney Marsh Brewery at Ales by the Rails at Dungeness Station.

RH&DR runs a family friendly beer garden with an ‘all local’ drinks list. Open on selected special event days.
