Locomotives

The Railway is probably best known for its superb fleet of one-third full size steam trains and diesel locomotives, all of which have been built to run safely at speeds of 25mph on rails only 15 inches apart. All of the steam locomotives were built between 1925 and 1937. VIEW ROLLING STOCK

	2 Northern Chief 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly. Built by Davey Paxman & Co. in 1925.
	3 Southern Maid 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly. Built by Davey Paxman & Co. in 1926.
	4 The Bug 0-4-0 Industrial tender-tank locomotive. Designed by Roland Martens. Built by Krauss, Munich in 1926.
	5 Hercules 4-8-2 Mountain locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly. Built by Davey Paxman & Co. in 1927.
	6 Samson 4-8-2 Mountain locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly. Built by Davey Paxman & Co. in 1927.
	7 Typhoon 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly. Built by Davey Paxman & Co. in 1927.
	8 Hurricane 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly. Built by Davey Paxman & Co. in 1927.
	9 Winston Churchill 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly and A.L.S Richardson. Built by Yorkshire Engine Company 1931.
	10 Dr Syn 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive. Designed by Henry Greenly and A.L.S Richardson. Built by Yorkshire Engine Company 1931.
	11 Black Prince 4-6-2 German outline Pacific locomotive. Designed by Roland Martens. Built by Krupp of Essen in 1937.
	12 John Southland BO BO mainline diesel locomotive. Designed by RH&DR. Built by TMA Engineering in 1983.
	14 Captain Howey BO BO mainline diesel locomotive. Designed by RH&DR. Built by TMA Engineering in 1989.
