Day Out With Thomas (DOWT) on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway 2012 Friday 29th, Saturday 30th and Sunday 1st July 2012.

Planning your Day Out With Thomas on the RH&DR.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway staff and engines are delighted to welcome their favourite blue engine "Thomas the Tank EngineTM" all the way from the Isle of Sodor to organise and operate alongside our own fine fleet of miniature main line locomotives for three days at the end of this month Friday 29th June, Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2012.
Thomas will be busy every day bringing many happy families from our stations at Hythe, Dymchurch and Dungeness on his selected pre-reserved trains (see www.rhdr.org.uk) to New Romney station where there will be lots to do and enjoy. Many customers have already reserved seats on our trains hauled by Thomas or character engines and all but the 12.35 departure on Friday 29th June have the reserved space sold. These reserved tickets are for the outward journey from Hythe specified on them but are valid for onward travel from New Romney and return to Hythe for the rest of the same day i.e. they are Day Rover tickets and they give access to all the Day Out with Thomas activities at New Romney and the bus circular tours with Bulgy the Bus at Dungeness. At Hythe station there is free parking on a first come first served basis for Day Out With Thomas customers and further free on street parking nearby. The SAT NAV code for Hythe station is CT21 6LD.

Day Rover tickets will also be available on the day of this event subject to there being space remaining with the most space likely on the 5 minutes past each hour services from Hythe starting from 10.05.

The timetable for Friday 29th June and a different one for Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July 2012 are to be found on the timetable page of this website.

What a Day Out With Thomas includes on the RH&DR
The Fat Controller, "Sir Topham Hatt" will be on hand keeping order, not an easy task if Thomas has a mischievous mood whilst on his holidays. Toby the Tram will be giving rides in his special coach and when he is not on the main line so will Thomas too. All these rides are included in your Day Rover ticket.
At Dungeness, Bulgy the Bus will be giving free rides around the Dungeness Estate with it's amazing shingle and special plants and just as likely on your journey you will catch sight of one of our main line in miniature locomotives hauling long trains of happy customers along the line.
Back at New Romney Thomas will have his Imagination station open featuring colouring activities, story reading and table top Thomas and Friends toys in the backdrop of our Model Railway Exhibition (and no doubt our Thomas and Friends models will be making their way round the layout there too). No extra charges apply for any of these activities.
At set times as laid out below we will also have other fun activities for your enjoyment and interest and these are repeated to ensure that everyone has the chance to get involved. They all take place around the main concourse at New Romney station, alongside Platform 1.
